The Cat in the Hat

The character that im going to analyze is the fish. I have no reason for choosing him. The fish's personality contributes to the plot in a small way. The fish is the superego. A person may argue that the fish is just an ego, but i will argue that he is the SUPEREGO! When the fish speaks he is only talking about how the cat shouldn't be here, and how he is bad. The definition of a superego is
the part of the personality representing the conscience, formed in early life by internalization of the standards of parents and other models of behavior. (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/superego) The fish is only thinking about how doing what the cat does is bad and will mess the house up. He is only thinking about the good and about himself. He just follows the rules and never has fun. He just says NO! He is the complete opposite of the cat. The Cat does change, but never says no. Who would have thunk that in high school we would have read The Cat in the Hat! The Fish represents the people who have the power. Police, Principals, Ranger Rick (or DANGER DICK meng mo's name for Ranger Rick) He is the one in power but it is funny becuase he was in control but never controlled the kids. They let the cat in and fuck up their house. He is why we enjoy doing "BAD" things. It's because nothing is "Bad" unless someone says its bad. I mean cursing was like horrible when you were little and now they are just words. I always had people telling me they are "Bad" but then i heard that person say it, so then it's bad to swear but it's ok to do it? I guess it is. The fish is the adult in this story. The cat is more the wild teenager that wants to have fun even by breaking the rules. The cat reminds me of the kid in all the movies that throws the parties away even when their parents say "NO" that sounds like the Fish a whole lot, but they are leaving so how can they stop them from throwing it? They can't. I have no idea how many words there are, but i will stop.
